The Pop Art movement has always blurred the boundaries between highbrow and lowbrow culture. This art exhibit features the most influential Pop artists of the current generation: Jeff Koons, Daniel Arsham, Kaws, Alex Israel, Miaz Brothers, and Jerkface. Humor and satire are major themes surrounding the exhibition, casting a lens on modern-day society to reflect its values, morals, and obsessions.
When I immerse myself in Pop Art, I feel a sense of intrigue. It's fascinating how these artists capture our attention with the mundane, turning ordinary elements into extraordinary pieces. This is the moment when my head goes ?!—meaning, "Oh, I know this; this is so familiar." That’s why, for this project, I’ve crafted an artist's book tailored to a Pop Art exhibition hosted by Gagosian Gallery in Los Angeles.
Because Pop artists often use mundane objects, I incorporated a repetition system throughout the book. For example, my divider page is repeated twice to reflect the idea of mass production—a fundamental concept in the Pop Art movement.
